The same chair shown in the previous slide is pictured again to the right in this slide. In this photo, the chair has a large sheet of three inch polyurethane foam resting on the seat cushion. This problem can be observed in any number of apartment or residential complexes for older adults when seats do not provide appropriate sprung support in the cushion. Unfortunately, the foam pad will only provide an initial gain in comfort, but the hardness of the spring base will be felt nonetheless.
